Berényi Bence

18 year old "Software Developer"

Yet another developer who will end up at a homeless shelter

About Me

Hi, I'm a developer who spends way too much time staring at screens and convincing myself that what I'm doing is actually useful. I build applications that solve problems that probably didn't need solving in the first place.

My "expertise" includes amounts of C programming (because I enjoy torturing myself), some React Native (because who doesn't love debugging on 50 different devices), and Vue.js (which I picked because React was too mainstream). I'm constantly trying to find the most perfect and newest technologies that will probably be obsolete by the time I master them.

I am also interested in 3D rendering which even now exceeds my mathematical skills (Graphics Pipeline who?). And I'm also open to other career suggestions because I'd like to not pursue anything related to technology.

My Projects

JF

Jetpack Fella

A pointless game about a guy with a jetpack written in C because apparently I enjoy making things harder than they need to be.

C LanguageView Project
FM

Filc Mobile

A student council app that nobody asked for, written in React Native because I wanted to experience the joy of cross-platform bugs. In cooperation with Vince.

PN

PetrikNap & Honfoglaló

A webapp that took way too long to build just to display some school events. At least it gave me an excuse to use Vue.js.

Websites to Help Developers

LeetCode

LeetCode allows you to do programming tasks of variable difficulties, usually these tasks are used in interviews for big corporations that won't hire you anyway.

Exercism

Exercism has 100+ programming language courses with playful tasks and a community which helps you advance in these courses, assuming you can handle the crushing weight of their judgment.

Advent of Code

Advent of Code is a yearly online programming event in which there's a new task unlocking every day until Christmas. Perfect for those who want to feel increasingly inadequate as the holidays approach.

Workplace Etiquette

Work Environment

Keep up a friendly and respectful work environment with your peers. Pretend to like your coworkers even when they write code that makes you question humanity's future.

Work Hours & Attendance

Start work and meetings on time, and follow the designated break times. Or just look busy when your manager walks by while you're actually debugging that one line of code for the fifth hour.

Performance

Meet deadlines and communicate with your team efficiently, accept criticism and strive to improve. Or just get really good at explaining why everything is taking longer than expected.

Get In Touch

For some reason, you might want to work with me or ask questions. I'll try to respond if I'm not busy questioning my career choices.
